Securing Our Border and Stopping Deadly Fentanyl
Open borders and unfettered illegal immigration represent a threat to Americans’ safety and our national security. Senator McCormick has worked alongside the Trump administration to secure our southern border, crack down on dangerous criminals who enter our country, and target the Mexican cartels and Chinese manufacturers trying to poison our communities with fentanyl.

For far too long, the Mexican drug cartels have poisoned communities in Pennsylvania and across the country with deadly fentanyl, killing more than 4,000 Pennsylvanians each year. We need a clear strategy to dismantle the cartels that has real accountability and metrics for success, so we know security cooperation is actually achieving results.

That is why Senator McCormick has advanced legislation to strengthen federal coordination against fentanyl trafficking, hold China accountable for its role in producing the chemical precursors needed to manufacturer deadly drugs, and create a clear, measurable strategy to dismantle the drug cartels themselves. Senator McCormick has also worked across the aisle to ensure our security cooperation with Mexico delivers real results for the American people.
