Deadline for Judicial Nominee Applications is December 31, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senators Dave McCormick (R-PA) and John Fetterman (D-PA) today announced Andy Reilly and Deborah Willig as co-chairs to lead the commission reviewing applications for candidates to be considered for judicial appointments to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The co-chairs will oversee the vetting and candidate selection process for the judicial appointment.
“I want to thank Andy Reilly and Deborah Willig for agreeing to serve as co-chairs for this important commission,” said Senator McCormick. “It is critical that we select qualified nominees with demonstrated legal expertise, practical understanding of our judicial system, and proven records of integrity. Only then can we ensure the appointment of judges who serve with expert insight, uphold our Constitution, and faithfully apply the rule of law.”

Andrew J. Reilly, who serves of counsel to Pennsylvania-based law firm Stevens & Lee, brings decades of legal, civic, and business leadership experience in Pennsylvania, advising public and private sector clients on government relations, regulatory navigation, litigation, and complex real estate and business transactions. His public service includes representing municipal entities, serving on federal and state judicial and disciplinary panels, and chairing a U.S. Senate–appointed commission to vet candidates for key federal law enforcement roles.
Deborah Willig is a Managing Partner at Willig, Williams & Davidson with more than four decades of experience in labor relations and employment law. The first female Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association, she represents unions in the public and private sectors and has played a central role in major collective bargaining negotiations across multiple industries. She has been widely honored for her leadership, advocacy, and lasting impact on workers’ rights and the legal profession.
