The Summit will bring together top leaders in government, energy, labor, AI technologies, and more to ensure Pennsylvania plays a key role in America’s new era of energy dominance.
Washington, D.C., June 12, 2025: President Donald J. Trump will be attending Senator Dave McCormick’s (R-Pennsylvania) inaugural Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on July 15, 2025. The Summit will bring together the world’s top leaders in energy and AI, alongside the biggest global investors, labor and trades leaders, and government officials, to showcase Pennsylvania’s incredible potential to power the AI revolution.
“There’s no question that the path to American energy dominance runs directly through Pennsylvania, and this Summit will celebrate all our Commonwealth has to offer,” Senator McCormick said. “Harnessing Pennsylvania’s unique strengths to attract new data center investment and energy infrastructure development will jumpstart Pennsylvania’s economy, create great, new jobs, and bolster our national security.”
“The Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit will align the leading energy companies, the most innovative AI platforms, global investors, and labor and trades behind President Trump’s agenda to unleash American energy potential. Together, we can usher in a new age of energy production and power the AI and technological revolution. I am grateful to President Trump for announcing he will join us in Pittsburgh,” McCormick concluded.
President Trump’s attendance comes on the heels of Amazon unveiling earlier this week that it will invest $20 billion in Pennsylvania to build data center campuses in Luzerne and Bucks Counties, representing the largest economic development project in Pennsylvania’s history. This also builds on top of the historic announcement of a partnership between Nippon Steel and U.S. Steel which will invest $14 billion to dramatically enhance U.S. domestic steel production capacity, protect more than 11,000 Pennsylvania jobs, and support the creation of at least 14,000 more.
Pennsylvania’s vast natural gas resources, combined with its skilled workforce, plentiful water, proximity to major population centers, and elite research institutions, make the state a logical base to power America’s innovative technological future. Senator McCormick recently wrote an opinion piece for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette where he outlined his belief that the U.S. Steel-Nippon partnership will lead to success for Pennsylvania and America. He argues that this moment presents an opportunity to seize greatness and that he will work with anyone who is committed to such a renaissance for Pennsylvania.
